Growth hacker marketing: your agency as your partner in crime

January is my favourite month to pick up a new business book to read—it gives me an excuse to skip my boyfriend’s beer league hockey game hibernate with a glass of wine. This past Saturday I picked up a short book by Ryan Holiday called Growth Hacker Marketing. It was a great read that anyone in the business of growing a brand (or brands) should get their hands on.
Holiday’s book breaks down the mindset behind growth hacking, the strategy that exploded some of the biggest brands like Facebook, Dropbox, Airbnb, and Twitter. It’s about building these explosive reactions into your products and then ditching traditional marketing in favor of smarter tools that are testable, trackable, and scalable. It’s not “build a product and they will come”—it’s: build a product, tweak it until they can’t live without it and they will come in droves.
Holiday talks about getting that Product Market Fit (PMF) by shifting into product development mode.
The best marketing decision you can make is to have a product or business that fulfills a real and compelling need for a real and defined group of people—no matter how much tweaking and refining this takes.
I couldn’t agree more.
But isn’t product development an internal thing? What does an agency bring to the table?
We help you crystallize it
A very common question: Where do I find the right people? If this isn’t immediately obvious to you, then you don’t know your own industry well enough to even consider launching a product yet. Period.
It’s pretty common that when we’re ramping up with a new client, we notice that not everyone is on the same page with the direction of the company or exactly who they are after. When we come in, we need to learn absolutely everything we can in a very short period of time so we ask the tough questions. Uncertainty or inconsistencies in answers are usually a combination of people being too close to the brand and not having had to go through an exercise like this before. We come in with fresh eyes and the right questions that help you crystallize your brand and your target market.
We’ve got the right mindset and we’ll get you into it too
One of the most powerful ways we help our clients is by pushing. As an agency, we’re inspired. We’re hungry. We’re agile. Client-side is a bit of a different story–and there’s red tape. So much red tape. Clients hire us because we have that throw-out-the-old-playbook mindset. As your agency, it’s our job to help you make stuff happen.
We’re your marketing unicorn
[Growth hackers] are data scientists meets design fiends meets marketers.
Talent like that can be hard to come by, and we bring you a stacked team.
Holiday talks about building products and services with testable, trackable and scalable tools built in. Landing pages, email deployment, analytics, A-B testing–We live and breathe testable, trackable and scalable. We’re data-driven because clients don’t stay with an agency for fun—they stay for results.
We have the tools and the expertise to know who your customers are and how to find out what their needs are so you can meet those needs.
