For some of us, the downtime during the holidays can stressful. Busybodies like to stay busy. So if you find yourself with a few spare minutes, check out some of these games that you can play on your phone so your brain doesn’t go to mush like the last piece of pie you couldn’t finish and left in the fridge.
Dots
We’ve talked about this game before – it’s beautiful and simple: connect dots of the same colour.
Available on Android & iOS for free. You can also check out the developer’s website (it’s really cute!)
Just Get 10
Another really colourful game! Not surprisingly, the goal of this one is to get a 10 tile by combining adjacent tiles.
You can try it out on the web here. It’s also available on iOS for free.
2048
This is a derivative of a game called 1024, which was made by the same guys as Just Get 10. With both, the only game mechanic is to swipe the tiles so that they combine and double. The goal is to get a block of 2048.
You can try it out on the web here. It’s also available on Android & iOS for free.
Flow
Although not as visually pleasing as some of these other games, Flow is a great challenge. To finish a level, you must connect the dots of the same colour. Sounds easy (and kind of like Dots), but the trick is that the lines cannot intersect or cross over one another. So you have to be really smart about which lines you draw where.
It’s available on Android & iOS for free.
Blendoku
For our more design-oriented friends, this game is perfect. The goal is to arrange colours so that swatches blend nicely with adjacent swatches.
It’s available on web browser for free.
Disclaimer: All of these games are highly addictive. Remember to take frequent breaks to socialize with your family and enjoy the holidays.
