Stryve is hiring a Marketing Coordinator (Full-Time)

We’re looking for someone stoked to apply their marketing know-how—someone who has big ideas and wants a chance to run with them. From tech to agriculture, we work with a wide range of clients. There’s no question the job will provide you with a ton of variety and interesting work.

The successful candidate will start working with us full time at our Kitchener office in as soon has he/she is available.

What you’d be getting yourself into

As a Stryve Marketing Coordinator, you’ll support our Account Managers with planning and executing on client deliverables. You’ll also work on Stryve-related marketing activities and eventually get your feet wet with a client or two of your own. So what does that all look like? Well, in any given week your tasks could include:

  • Blogging about something you’ve learned about recently in digital marketing or working smarter
  • Planning, launching, optimizing, analyzing, and reporting on campaigns for a client of ours
  • Wireframing, building, or making changes to a WordPress website
  • Kicking off a design project, providing feedback on it, and liaising with the client about it
  • Working with the team to improve the way we work together and for clients

What we’re hoping to find

Our future Stryve Marketing Coordinator will come to us with…

  • A degree/diploma in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience that speaks to your ability to manage a project to completion
  • A natural flair for writing

And we’ll show him/her the ropes for everything else! That being said, it would be really nice (but certainly NOT required) to have some bonus skills/experience in:

  • Design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • WordPress and web development languages such as HTML or CSS
  • Google Analytics & AdWords
  • Social PPC advertising
  • Marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot or Pardot

Stryve is excited to announce a new addition to the team! Jessica Chorney joined Stryve in January 2017 as an office coordinator. With past experience in marketing and organization, she will assist the team with office and marketing-related tasks.

Prior to joining the Stryve team, Jessica interned at Cadillac Canada, where she was responsible for the organization and promotion of the Dare Greatly Challenge – a brand-building bicycle journey from NYC to Toronto. Meet Stryve’s new Graphic Designer, Grace Cole

Stryve is excited to announce a new addition to the team! Grace Cole joined Stryve in February 2016 as a graphic designer. With past experience in both design and marketing, she will be taking on tasks such as creating brand identities and digital content including websites, social media graphics, and marketing materials.

Prior to joining the Stryve team, Grace previously worked at FPC as a graphic designer and marketing coordinator. While there, she was responsible for designing, customizing and maintaining marketing materials, as well as coordinating clients’ direct mail and seminar campaigns. Following her graduation from Conestoga College, where she earned her graphic design diploma, Grace completed an internship at Overdrive (Design Limited) in Toronto. Her educational background and experience in design and marketing brings a unique skill set to the Styve team.

Stryve is a digital agency specializing in B2B marketing. We’re a team of artists, techies and strategic thinkers who create digital experiences that drive sales for our clients. Our clients’ businesses are diverse, ranging from technology to law and higher education.

We’re looking for an amazing designer to join us to transform ideas into compelling creative. The right candidate will be passionate and eager to work in a fast-paced, growing organization where skills are valued. He or she will be able to design in multiple environments, including digital and print.

Essentially, we’re looking for a design rock star.

What you’re getting yourself into

As a Stryve Designer, you will work directly with clients, account managers and the senior team to deliver creative that wows our clients. A typical day might see you working on:

  • Web design
  • Information Architecture / Wireframing
  • Branding/logo design
  • Print ads
  • Social media ads
  • Interactive App design

But that’s not all you’ll be asked to do.

  • Blogging is part of our ongoing, online presence. You must be comfortable producing blogs or infographics on a variety of topics related to new marketing and design trends.
  • As a team, we work together to create the best work we possibly can. You must be comfortable taking direction from and providing feedback to the team.

What we’re hoping to find

We’re not specifying required years of experience. We’re more interested in a strong portfolio and skill set. We’re seeking a confident, talented designer who will bring expertise to our company, but is also clearly focused on being the best they can be.

Because of that, the following will be key:

  • Degree or diploma in graphic design
  • Impressive portfolio of previous digital and print work
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
  • Demonstrated written communication skills (blogging experience is an asset)
  • Solid understanding of the creative and print production processes (proofing and pre-flighting)
  • Experience in corporate branding, layout, and typography in both print and digital media
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, with a fine eye for detail

Stryve Digital Marketing is looking to hire an office assistant who will work with their team on a part-time basis. All candidates must have a car, a valid driver’s license and be willing to do tasks such as:

  • Analyzing and managing office overhead costs such as telephone, internet and business travel expenses
  • Booking meetings and managing Stryve team member schedules
  • Reordering and picking up office supplies
  • Helping with the redesign of the office environment
  • Maintain the appearance of the interior of the Stryve office space
  • Other general office tasks as required

Job Requirements

  • A car and a driver license

  • Willing to run errands on behalf of the business

  • Willing to work on location at the Stryve office for 1-2 days a week/ 5-7 hours a week

Compensation

  • $15/hour

Meet Stryve’s new Chief Wordsmith, Susan Chilton

Stryve is excited to announce a new addition to the team. Susan Chilton joined Stryve in March 2015 as the Chief Wordsmith. She will be producing written content and editing the written work of others. Susan comes to Stryve with vast experience in writing, editing, and consulting. Locally, she is best known for her lengthy tenure as an editor and columnist for the Waterloo Region Record. While there, she wrote for and spearheaded every section except Sports, about which she knows precisely nothing.

Prior to her foray into journalism, Susan was for over a decade the VP of a marketing agency, where she did double-duty as Creative Director for a team of copywriters and graphic designers. She has been a Professor in the School of Media and Design at Conestoga College for the past six years. There, she imparts her love of the written word — and proper grammar — to students in the Public Relations, Journalism, and Advertising/Marketing programs.

Susan’s passion for storytelling has led her to edit dozens of books, including her brother David’s bestsellers, The Wealthy Barber and The Wealthy Barber Returns. Stryve is excited to welcome her to the team.
